			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Why is losing weight and getting into shape so difficult?  You would think that a heavy person could just eat a little bit less and presto change-o they would start shedding their excess fat.As a guy that&#8217;s strggled with his weight for the last 20 years I can tell you it&#8217;s anything but simple.</p>
<p> My body has become de-sensitized over the years from all of the abuse I&#8217;ve given it  by not eating a healthy and balanced diet.  I would try eating less and less which I now know is a big no-no.</p>
<p> I tried eating 5-6 smaller meals each day, but that didn&#8217;t really work for me.  I tried just playing racquetball for 2-3 hours a day and I gained weight doing that.Everything I tried led to me gaining more and more weight.</p>
<p> I was completely frustrated.  I had reached the point of no longer believing I could overcome my weight problem.I swelled up to 308 pounds.  My feet hurt, my ankles hurt, my knees popped anytime I walked. </p>
<p> I was a mess.  I was always tired and extremely lethargic.  My attitude was terrible as well.  I  wanted to find some magic pill or diet that would instantly give me positive results.I was in complete denial of reality.</p>
<p> It was about 7 months ago that I saw my first <a target="_blank" title="Tony Horton's P90X" href="http://fatboyfitnessblog.com/p90x-reviews-believe-the-hype">Tony Horton P90X</a> infomercial.Tony&#8217;s attitude is contagious and it reminded me about how I used to feel when I was fit back in college, working out all the time.</p>
<p> I loved lifting weights and playing racquetball.I was in the gym 3-4 hours everyday.  I had about 6% body fat and weighed in at 165 lbs.I had a rock hard stomach. I had a 6 pack that was to die for, my wife will tell you.</p>
<p> Physically, I let myself go and lost my positive outlook and good attitude also.  I had an epiphany.I used to work out simply becuase I enjoyed it, staying in shape was just a side benefit at the time.</p>
<p> Once I got heavy, my weight became this epic life or death struggle and my attitude about my health dried up with all my hopes of getting into good shape.</p>

<p> I finished the first workout and was so wiped out that I waited at least one more month before I did the 2nd one.  I did better the 2nd time around, probably because I knew what to expect and I got myself psyched up about it.</p>
<p> Ultimately I didn&#8217;t stick with the workouts long enough for them to make any difference.  I was lazy and didn&#8217;t give it a fair chance.On May 1st I mad a complete commitment to getting in shape with the P90X training program.</p>
<p> That was just over 2 months ago.Currently, I weigh in at 268 pounds and even though I&#8217;m still 60 pounds overweight, I&#8217;m keeping up with P90X.  My joints are feeling much better since I&#8217;ve strengthened the muscles that support them.I can actually run now without any pain.</p>
<p> I was so pathetic that I couldn&#8217;t even do the jumping jacks without killing my knees.I still have a ways to go before I reach my target goal of 210, but I know that I&#8217;ll reach it in the not so distant future.</p>
<p> Working out has become fun again and now that I&#8217;ve stuck with the program for a couple months, the results have become obvious.My dormant muscles are starting to show back up as I&#8217;m getting a lot stronger.I have plenty of energy and my body aches are a thing of the past.My attitude has taken a complete turn for the better and it&#8217;s made a difference in every part of my life.</p>

<p> My body has become de-sensitized over the years from all of the abuse I&#8217;ve given it  by not eating a healthy and balanced diet.I tried eating less and less, skipping breakfast and sometimes lunch. I know now what a mistake that was.</p>
<p> I tried eating 5-6 smaller meals each day, but that didn&#8217;t really work for me.I even gained weight playing racquetball 2-3 hours a day.  For the most part, everything I tried ended up causing me to gain weight.</p>
<p> I was completely frustrated.  I had reached the point of no longer believing I could overcome my weight problem.  I had ballooned up to 310 pounds.  My feet hurt, my ankles hurt, my knees popped anytime I walked. </p>
<p> I was miserable.  I was always tired and extremely lethargic.  My attitude was terrible as well.I was looking for a &#8220;magic pill&#8221; or &#8220;fad diet&#8221; that would give me instant results with little or no effort.  I was in full blown denial.</p>
