Which Sports Are Best For a Good Complexion?
Getting hot and sweaty might be great for your body, but it’s not always a good thing for your skin and can lead to breakout, rashes and all sorts of other issues. Here are some top sports that will not only keep your body fit, but also your skin.
Surfing. It may not be the first sport that comes to mind when thinking of skin-friendly sports, but the fact is that surfing can take years off you. Firstly the sea air opens up pores and helps detox the skin of any impurities that it picks up in more urban environments. Coastal air was actually a prescription of doctors for a long time as a treatment for a whole host of illnesses and skin conditions. Additionally, salt water and sand are excellent exfoliators of the skin and leave it both soft and buffed. Who needs spa days when you have the ocean to look after you?
Golf. As many experts agree, high levels of stress can play havoc with the condition of people’s skin. More oil than required is manufactured by pores on the skin as a result of an imbalance of hormones when stressed. The excess oils have the result of blocking the skin pores and creating the perfect oxygen-free environment for bacteria to grow, which in turn leads to spots. Many sports psychologists agree that low intensity and low pace sports such as golf are very good at reducing stress levels and thus alleviating the negative effects of stress on the skin. So if your skin is in need of some relaxation from all those intensive beauty products, your local golf course is the place to go.
Skiing. In moderate amounts, the sun’s rays can have some amazing healing effects of the skin. It is known to help with eczema, spots, rashes, and all sorts of other problems. That said, catching some rays often involves get hot and sweaty at the same time, which is not what the skin needs at all. Skiing and other winter sports allow you to get the most out of the sun by exposing it to safe levels of UV rays, but keep the skin cool at the same time and free from sweat and grease.
